Classic tracks don't get much bigger than this one. Cherrymoon Trax - The House Of House, remains a firm favourite among those that know and, thanks to a resurgence in retro cuts, a whole new generation of clubbers are experiencing what aged clubbers experienced before them. The Bonzai sound is at the forefront of the recent retro boom and with this year being our 25th year just makes it that bit more special. So who do you get to remix a mega classic like this? Well that's easy, only one of the biggest artists to come out of Belgium, the mighty M.I.K.E. Push aka Mike Dierickx. Famed for his soaring super saw trance melodies and pumping basslines, Mike has created a world renowned brand that is still in so much demand today. From his early days on USA Import to signing his work to a plethora of top labels, he has remained consistent in his approach to making music, he simply makes music he loves. Of course, one of the highlights of his illustrious career was during his time at Bonzai and the release of Universal Nation which propelled him to dizzying heights. Spare a thought for 50+ plus aliases and the multiple groups he belonged to as these projects have also delivered some of the most memorable tracks ever to grace the decks and the airwaves. A master of his craft who never fails to impress.
The Cherrymoon Trax conglomerate produced some fine cuts over the years, none more so than this monster. First appearing on Trax I, The House Of House is iconic, the vocal is instantly recognisable and the pounding beats delivered floor shuddering grooves that kept clubs going well into the night. Bjorn Wendelen, David Brants, Eddy Weyns, Franky Kloeck, Ilya Depuydt, Kris Vanderheyden, Nico Deleu, Pascal Quatretemps, Peter Schiettekatte, Philip Dirix, Youri De Pauw and Yves Deruyter got together and delivered their first cut - Let There Be House. The House Of House soon followed and fuelled the beginning of a new wave of harder edged sounds and tracks that build and build with epic climaxes. Here the M.I.K.E. Push remix intros with a pounding kick drum followed by a filtering bassline that soon finds its deeper frequency and turns into a full on chugging monster. The classic alarm sound fades in sending your skin into a goosebump frenzy before the instantly recognisable main melody comes through alongside the vocal as a deep rumbling bass lurks underneath a more prominent, punchy, probing bassline. On the break M.I.K.E. Push brings out pulsing pads that move effortlessly beside a bright lead synth while the vocal returns with an acid line in tow forming into a huge climax that will most definitely bring the roof down at any venue. A serious cut that is not to be missed.
